The results of the REF 2021 are out with 95% of Open University research in mathematical sciences judged to be internationally excellent or world leading.
Our members include two Whitehead Prize winners, a Bradford Hill medallist, a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society, a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics.
As well as research funded by significant external grants from funders such as EPSRC, MRC, the BBSRC, the EU and the Leverhulme Trust, we make significant contributions to the public awareness and understanding of science, in particular through collaborations with the BBC, for example in the long-running acclaimed Radio 4 series More or less.
