What can I study?

Whether you're a complete beginner or are looking for a degree or professional qualification, The Open University can provide a flexible way of achieving your goals. You'll develop proficiency in all four skills - reading, writing, speaking and listening.

We offer courses from beginners to graduate level in French, German and Spanish. We also offer degrees where you can combine either two modern languages (from French, German and Spanish) or one modern language and English.

What's OU study like?

Our unique methods mean you don't have to put your life on hold to get a qualification. You can study at home, at work or on the move.

You'll get regular support from your tutor and student support team, who'll give guidance, advice and feedback.

We can help you work out how much time you have and understand the skills you need.

Most of our undergraduate courses have no formal entry requirements. If you have the commitment we'll support you every step of the way.

Fees and funding

We keep our fees as low as possible and offer a wide range of funding and flexible payment options to make study more affordable than you might think.
