Some of this module’s study materials are online. Online materials are composed of pages of text with images, audio/video clips of 5-30 minutes long (all with transcripts/subtitles), interactive media, multiple-choice comprehension quizzes. Online materials also include links to external resources, online forums and online tutorial rooms.
This module provides online tutorials and forums. Although not compulsory, attendance at tutorials will help you consolidate your learning.
You will be required to work with other students. This includes looking at, and commenting on, others work, reflecting on others comments on your work, and/or working together with fellow learners on a project/task. Alternative means of assessment have been prepared to enable students with disabilities and those in secure environments to successfully meet the learning aims if necessary.
This module introduces you to the use of an online studio for the posting of images and sound files to share with your tutor and tutor group. Advice on accessing the studio and/or alternative means of assessment has been prepared to enable students with disabilities to successfully meet the learning aims if necessary.
The study materials contain some diagrams, graphs, and photographs. Reading these is an important part of the study of this module. Figure descriptions are provided for all figures.
You may be encouraged to search for, and make use of, third party material online. Alternatives for required/assessed research material can be provided to enable you to meet the Learning Outcomes of the module.
This module has five tutor-marked assignments and an end-of-module assessment. If you are concerned about any aspects of assessments, please contact us for advice on alternative assessments and support.
You will receive feedback from your tutor on your submitted tutor-marked assignments (TMAs). This will help you to reflect on your TMA performance. You should refer to it to help you prepare for your next assignment. Your tutor and the Student Support Team will also be available to respond to questions about how to improve your study expertise due to any accessibility issues.
All University modules are structured according to a set timetable and you will need time-management skills to keep your studies on track. You will be supported in developing these skills.
