Accessibility statementAll of this module’s study materials are online. Online materials are composed of pages of text with images, audio/video clips of 5-25 minutes (all with transcripts/subtitles); diagrams; interactive media; animations; and multiple-choice self-assessed quizzes. Online materials also include links to external resources, online forums and tutorial rooms. We provide printed materials for some module content.
This module provides a range of learning events, online tutorials and online discussions. Any face-to-face learning event offers an online (or other) alternative. Although not compulsory, tutorials will help you consolidate your learning.
You’ll be required to work with other students, and we assess this. This includes looking at and commenting on others’ work; reflecting on others’ comments on your work; and/or working together with fellow learners on a collaborative task.
Online practical work forms a required component of the assessment. This includes some collaborative group work.
This module extends your knowledge of using an online workshop tool. We’ve prepared alternative study materials to enable students to complete the module.
The study materials contain a considerable number of diagrams and photographs. Interpreting examples of these is an important part of the study of this module. We provide descriptions for all essential figures.
You will be required to search for and use third-party material online, and we will assess this. We can provide alternatives for the required/assessed research material to enable you to meet the learning outcomes of the module.
You will also be required to search for, read, and assess both academic and non-academic sources of information, including online databases.
This module includes tutor-marked assignments, time-bounded peer-review activities using a workshop tool, and an end-of-module assessment.
You will receive feedback from your tutor on your tutor-marked assignments (TMAs). You will be able to use this feedback to reflect on your learning and help you prepare for your next assignment.
All University modules are structured according to a set timetable and you will need time-management skills to keep your studies on track. You will be supported in developing these skills.
