What you will study

the use of experimentation in memory research and how it relates to clinical research, such as brain imaging, will also be reviewed -
how attitudes and beliefs about the way children learn and develop relate to our practices in child rearing and education. -
how surveys are used in personality research and in assessing creativity -
phenomenological analysis, and how it can be used to explore our experiences of the world and ourselves -
discourse analysis and how this method helps us to appreciate and analyse the socially constructed nature of the world around us, including psychological phenomena.

Computing requirements

Primary device – A desktop or laptop computer with at least 8 GB of RAM, a quad-core processor (2.4 GHz minimum speed) and 3GB of free hard drive space. The screen must have a resolution of at least 1024 pixels horizontally and 768 pixels vertically. It’s possible to access some materials on a mobile phone, tablet or Chromebook; however, they will not be suitable as your primary device. -
Peripheral device – Headphones/earphones with a built-in microphone for online tutorials. -
Operating systems – 64-bit version of Windows 11 or the latest supported macOS to install and run the SPSS Statistics software. Devices running the Linux-based Chrome OS will not be able to install or run this software. -
Internet access – Broadband or mobile connection. -
Browser – Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge are recommended. Mozilla Firefox and Safari may be suitable. -
Our OU Study app operates on supported versions of Android and iOS. -
Software – You will be provided with the SPSS Statistics program.
