With The Open University, a UK qualification can cost far less than you might expect. As an international student, you'll earn a fully accredited degree from a leading university while paying significantly lower fees than at a traditional campus. And because you study from home, you avoid the added expense of travelling and living abroad. There's no large bill upfront, either. Our degrees are built from individual modules, so you pay as you go, spreading the cost over time, with the option to pay in instalments through an Open University Student Budget Account (OUSBA).

Qualifications at the OU are made up of a series of modules. Every module has an individual fee – added together, they give you the total cost. You'll fund your modules as you study them, so you won't have to pay for your whole qualification upfront.

The cost per year depends on how many modules you choose to take. With us, you have the flexibility to adjust the pace of your studies each year to fit around your work, family and other commitments. The figures below show typical undergraduate costs. Postgraduate fees start from £3,675 and can vary depending on the qualification. I couldn’t have studied through other universities because of the cost. The value for money that you got from the OU was incredible and, along with the flexibility of distance learning, it did make it a more feasible option.

Irish students usually need to arrange their own funding. Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to pay by credit or debit card, by monthly instalments, through employer sponsorship, or by combining payment methods.

Fees are shown in Pound Sterling (GBP). However, if you pay online with an eligible non-UK-issued card, you'll have the option to pay in your home currency. Find out more about paying by card.
